The official Toyota history is, like that of most companies, fairly glossy and bare-bones. Sakichi Toyoda, a prolific inventor, created the Toyoda Automatic Loom company based on his groundbreaking designs, one of which was licensed to a British. The first engine was produced in 1934 (the Type A), the first car and truck in 1935 (the Model A1 and G1, respectively), and its second car design in 1936 (the model AA).
Toyota’s fundamental mission is to contribute to people’s lifestyles, society, and the economy through automotive manufacturing. In upholding this mission, we have always focused on the future of the automobile industry when deciding how best to position our company. In this endeavor, Toyota will continue to adhere to its business principles of farsighted management and growth in harmony with the Earth and society.
